The Huila region, with its ideal altitude, climate, and volcanic soil, has become one of Colombia's premier coffee-growing areas. The high-altitude farms at Hulia region are situated between
1,500 to 1,900 meters above sea level, where the cool nights and warm days create the perfect conditions for slow coffee cherry maturation. This, combined with the skill and care of local
farmers, results in exceptional coffee that reflects the region’s unique terroir.
Virgiliano Hernández, the producer of this lot has more than 20 years of experience working in coffee. Virgiliano has a 12-acre farm called El Guamo located in the community of Las Chinas
within the municipality of San Agustín, Huila.
This coffee is processed using the natural (or dry) method. In this process, the coffee cherries are sun-dried with the fruit still intact, allowing the beans to absorb more of the natural sugars and
flavors from the fruit. This results in a cup that is full-bodied, fruity.
